Become a fan on Facebook Follow on Twitter Capsule review by Mark Dujsik Comedy troupe Broken Lizard’s first movie is very funny but too concerned with giving us a plot. As a series of disconnected skits, Super Troopers works, but in trying to piece them together with a story of rivaling law enforcement agencies and a marijuana-dealing ring, the team has lost a lot of the charm that comes along with the material. The humor has an infectious rebellious frat-boy spirit, and all of it is really, really immature. Thankfully the guys don’t go for gross-out jokes, which is really, really refreshing. The skits are hit and miss, but they work more often than not. I laughed a lot, but I wanted to laugh more. Copyright © 2002 by Mark Dujsik. All rights reserved. |
